The GMKtec NucBox M3 Pro puts a 12-core Intel Core i5-13500H into a 114 × 106 mm box. This version comes with 32GB of DDR4 and a 1TB NVMe SSD, the configuration to pick for heavy multitasking, many browser tabs and larger files, with Windows 11 Pro installed.
It is aimed at people who have outgrown entry-level N-series mini PCs and want real multi-core performance and three 4K displays, without the size of a tower.
Key Features and What They Mean
Core i5-13500H with selectable power modes
The i5-13500H has 4 performance and 8 efficiency cores, 16 threads and boosts to 4.7GHz. GMKtec offers Silent (28W), Balanced (35W) and Performance (40W, 45W peak) modes. PCWorld’s review of the 32GB / 1TB unit measured 6,427 in PCMark 10 and called it a solid office computer with decent multithreaded performance, while noting the 2023 chip is starting to show its age next to newer Core Ultra and Ryzen AI parts.
Dual-channel memory matters here
Intel Iris Xe graphics only runs at full capability with dual-channel memory, which GMKtec lists as a requirement. The board takes DDR4-3200 only in two SO-DIMM slots, up to 64GB; DDR5 modules will not work. When upgrading, fit a matched pair.
Storage: one slot used, one free
The included NVMe drive sits in the M.2 2280 slot, which supports PCIe 4.0 x4 drives up to 8TB but not SATA M.2 drives. The second slot is the short M.2 2242 size and accepts SATA or PCIe 3.0 drives. PCWorld measured 3,365MB/s read and 2,631MB/s write on the factory 1TB SSD.
Three 4K screens and 2.5G networking
Two HDMI 2.0 ports and a rear USB-C DisplayPort output drive up to three 4K displays at 60Hz. Networking is Intel I226 2.5GbE plus Realtek Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The front has two 10Gbps USB-A ports; the only USB-C port is on the back.
Competitive Positioning
The M3 Pro is a mid-range office and productivity mini PC. It clearly outpaces N150 and N100 boxes such as the G3 Plus for multitasking. Against Ryzen 7000 mini PCs like the NucBox M6 Ultra it gives up graphics performance, USB4 and DDR5 support, and PCWorld points out it has no NPU for local AI features. Its strengths are the 12-core CPU, triple display support and simple DDR4 upgrades.

Our Take
For office desks in the Philippines this is a sensible spreadsheet, ERP and multi-monitor machine. PCWorld measured about 10W at idle and over 50W in short bursts under heavy load, so it is cheap to run day to day. Under sustained full load the fan is clearly audible, so in a hot room without aircon, Balanced or Silent mode is the better daily setting. Gamers, video editors and anyone wanting local AI features should look at a Ryzen 7000 or newer system instead.
Known Compatibility and Setup Notes
Required: DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM only. DDR5 memory is not supported.
Possible consideration: the M.2 2280 slot does not accept SATA M.2 drives; use the 2242 slot for SATA. PCWorld also found Secure Boot disabled out of the box, which some company IT policies require turned on.
