Compatibility and Requirements

The RS826RP+ and RS826+ accept both 3.5″ SATA HDDs and 2.5″ SATA SSDs. Synology strongly recommends utilizing their Enterprise Series or Plus Series drives (such as the HAT5300 or HAT3300 series) to guarantee performance and reliability, as they feature deep hardware-software integration with the DiskStation Manager (DSM) OS. For memory expansion, users must install identical, compatible Synology DDR4 ECC SODIMM modules. Rack mounting requires either a sliding rail kit (RKS-02) or mounted rail kit (RKM114), which are sold separately. The system integrates effortlessly into existing virtualized environments with certified support for VMware ESXi 8.0, Windows Server 2025, Citrix XenServer 8.4, and OpenStack Cinder.

Each RackStation purchase includes everything you need to begin your enterprise storage deployment. The RS826+ includes the Main Unit, an Accessory Pack (containing installation screws and necessary documentation), and one AC Power Cord. The RS826RP+ model, equipped with a redundant power supply, includes the Main Unit, the Accessory Pack, and two AC Power Cords to ensure immediate high-availability power deployment. Both models are backed by Synology’s standard 3-year hardware warranty, which can be extended to 5 years via the optional EW202 extended warranty package in select regions.
